CeraShift is the electronic logbook and operator rounds application for the control room and the field: one auditable record of what happened on the unit, what the field operator saw and read on the round, what is still open, and what the incoming shift must know — replacing paper logs, round sheets, e-mails and spreadsheets with one structured handover.
Effective logging and shift handover is a cornerstone of process safety. Investigations from Piper Alpha onward keep finding the same gap: the information existed, but it did not reach the person who needed it at the change of shift. Fragmented paper logs, e-mails and Excel sheets make that gap the normal condition.
CeraShift makes the log a structured, searchable database rather than free text on paper. Entries are time-stamped and attributed to a named user with a role; open items carry forward automatically; and process data can be captured straight from the DCS or historian so the operator records events, not numbers. The same record extends to the field: operator rounds are defined as routes with checkpoints, readings and checklists on a tablet, so a local gauge reading, a leak or a passing valve lands in the same log as the control-room entry — and is on the handover page before the next shift starts.
